Fish For A New Tank

Im getting ready to start up a new 55gal tank. Im looking for fish that arent normally sold at my LFS. However i have limited knowledge of such fish. So are there any good websites that layout alot of fish that can be kept in aquariums?

I usually do, but they still dont have alot of fish that can be gotten for an aquarium

Seriouslyfish is a good choice. If you use their advanced search tools, you can put in your specifics such as tanks dimensions, pH, and hardness and you can also filter by area, water source (like Amazon River Basin, if you so desire), and fish size. 
 
If you know you want a schooling fish, you can also search within schooling fish, "showpiece" fish, etc.
