do you test KH?
whats the SG of your water?
what did you use to clean the skimmer?

Also hows your coral beauty doing? are things improoving there?

I do not test KH I thought that if other parameters are fine KH will be fine too.
Salinity is 1.024
I cleaned skimmer with tap water only.

My coral beauty has died a week ago. My guess the stress was also the problem.
She was in a quaranteen tank for more then a week, never ate any food at all, finally she started to hide in a plastic bottle.
I thought that it would be better for her (stupid me) to move her to a main tank. Next night she died in the main tank.

may want to check with your LFS as it could b the way the cardinal was caught ie cyanide fishing and find out a little more about where the fish came from.

Exactly. Many many wild-caught cardinals were done so with cyanide poisoning. Hence they die unexpectedly due to organ failure when you get them in your tank. When selecting fish, always find out how long fish have been in the LFS before you purchase them. Always make sure your fish have been in the store at least 2 weeks before purchase, and find out what the LFS is feeding them before you buy it and start out feeding that.

in addition to skis advice, ask them to feed the fish to see if it is eating.

Lots of times people blame cyanide poisoning for dying fish when it was actually nothing of the sort. Not implying anything here, but the symptoms are quite distinctive, and though I have had plenty of fish die I can only say one that died of cyanide, and even that was perhaps unlikely.

Symptoms include heightened but "incorrect" colouration, a general appearance of being "zoned out" and feeding at first, followed by a decline then a stop (which I see your fish has exhibited).

The truth is, fish die. It was probably the result of compounded stress from capture/shipping, and not your fault at all. It can be discouraging at first; next time, let the fish remain at the store for a few days. I am sure you will be able to stock fish eventually.

Thanks a lot for your support. I was gonna give up on fish and have only inverts and corals.
But going to try again with the clowns and another LFS. Gonna ask him to keep them for me for a while
so I can see how are they doing.

Dont give up just yet!
there are plenty of us who have had fish die for reasons beyond our knowing, the fact that you have had 2 die in quick succession just makes you feel like giving it all up, in truth alot of these things will be beyond your control, which by the sounds of it this was a prime example, all your water prams were spot on your water changes were being done on schedule, there was very liitle else you could do, so dont give it up just yet.

Another point for you that may be worth considering is if there are several LFS in the area is to go to them all and see what you think about the differences and who makes you feel more comfortable and who has the time to talk to you, its what I did and believe me its paid off, just had to give up my cream angel after 7 months as it was eating my corals and they took it back and exchanged it without a problem, likewise I know there are other shops around here who would say tough luck!

Stick with it :good:

Just got Seachem test, tested

Alkalinity: 4 meg/L
pH: 8.2

Water looks fine. Will try to get pair of clowns soon.
Ordered UV just in case, maybe it will help, not sure.
