thats fine that you think I am wrong, but I still think that your WCs are too small, a 10% weekly WC isn't going to handle your fish in that small of a tank. on top of that Fms are just as dirty as devils, jags,O's and every other large aggro cichlid, maybe I am wrong I don't have a breeding set up with 5 of them in my living room or nothing. on top of that your set up is going to be from my understanding a Kissing Gourami, a FM, and an Angel, which all three of those fish when grown will be very substantial fish on top of that 5 barbs, and removing the waste with only 10%!!!! not a chance.
A FM is nowhere near as dirty as a Oscar, for a start the fish is a third of its size and eats nowhere near as much!
So your point was my 32 gallon tank is not big enough to contain a firemouth, make your mind up mate,my response was to yours saying you cant keep these fish in 32 gallon and now your twisting it to say i'm not doing big enough water changes.
Lets get real here mate,10% water change on a 7" fish and a 1" fish is not pathetic.
How about before trying to belittle me how about ask me about long term plans.
I said i was going to do a 10% water change everyday until my Ammonia stopped spiking, and consedering i am only feeding them every other day at the moment anyway, its not a big deal, the reason why my Ammonia is spiking is becasue it is a newly cycled tank!
I never once said i was not going to do it accordingly to stock etc.
Your comment was a 32 gallon is not big enough for 3 6"-7" fish...hence my original response, all your doing now is nitpicking because you were wrong first time round.
Of course i am going to do bigger water changes later along, along with gravel hoovering and evaporation top ups,I have kept fish all my life from Reef tanks to Ponds, from Discus to Malawi, don't try and stomp on me with your Water police rubbish.
It sounds to me like your getting bored with your tank..... In my personal opinion after setting up your tank cycling and stocking there is not much else you can do but buy more fish upgrade your decor- equipment and weekly maintenance. So people tend to just keep buying fish. I have only been fish keeping for about a year but from what I have seen the more room your fish has the more life he has over crowding causes stress witch in tern causes sickness, but its your money your tank and your fish. If I had to chose I would go with what ever is smallest of those options.
I have only had the tank in question for 6 weeks,i have no room for bigger so i am making do with what i got,i'm hardly bored of my tank because i want 3 medium fish and some barbs.
The tank is 3ft,3" x 20" x 16" that is more than enough.
Please stop jumping on me people and trying to find faults,i just asked what would go with those 3 fish.
