Finaly Got My 6 Rasboras

picked up my 6 Harlequin rasboras from my LFS today, they bin in the tank for about 3-4 hours now, and are doing very well, geting on great with my 2 balloon mollies. im just wondering when i should feed them, as i was once told you shouldnt feed the tank when you add new fish. is this right? any info would be great.

Yes, that's right. Many fish feel too nervous to eat in a new tank. Leave them until tomorrow when they feel more at home, and feed only a very small amount for the next few days while they settle in.

You don't want to be straining your filter with any left over food, on top of the extra bioload from your new fish, although to be fair, that's not going to be a lot from 6 rasboras!

thanks for the reply, il wait till tomorow to feed them then, im also trying to find out if i could add another fish to the tank ( in a few weeks after everything is
all setled), any sugestions what i could add to it? its a 60liter tank.

60l is quite small, and mollies get quite big, so you don't have much room to play with.

I'd be inclined to increase the rasboras to a dozen and leave it at that; you could think about some shrimp, though I don't know if the mollies would eat them.

some one mite be takeing the mollies off my hands, so would free a bit of room up for me, so would leave me with the 6 Harlequins, which i was thinking of adding more aswell, what would go with only the Harlequins if i took the mollies out?

Balloon Mollies don't get as big as normal ones though so can't imagine it being that much of an issue.

I have just recieved 10 Harlequins and they're awesome! Always admired them, but never owned them until now. Now i want more!!

i want to add somthing that would be the main fish, like the feature fish in the tank.

Honey Gourami's

i was thinking gouramis as i was looking at the in store, but not sure what type they were, most of them had a slight blue colour to them

Dwarf Gourami's? They're pretty aggressive though sometimes, Honey's are alot more mellow and stay a bit smaller hence the suggestion. Although the blue would contrast excellently with the pink/orange of the Harlequins. It's up to you mate if want to risk one or a pair. If they were blue 3 spot G's then they grow too large for your tank i'm afraid.

Blue Betta maybe??

i wont be getting them then lol, this may sound silly, but what colour are honey ones exactly. and i do rather like a beta too as there was a stunning blue one in the store too, would that be okie with the rasboras

Betta don't mix well with other Anabantoids, so mixing them with Gourami's would be a no no.

Honey's are usually found in orange and yellow mate, their natural colouration is the yellower one.

I think i would be tempted to go with something to contrast with the colours of the HR's.
