The question about Auto or Manual "Pump" was a little confusing though.

Well, automated as in gravity powered? Automated as in mains water pressure? Needs a little clarification that I think, as those are the technologies I use for cleaning

i dont actually see the point of an automatic tank filler..
its probably just a powerhead with a tube attached

7. What price would you pay for an aquarium refilling device?

I wouldn't. Refilling the tank is only a part of a weekly (or other period) routine in making sure your fish are at maximum health. It is part of the hobby and I am sure the removal of this messy stage would have a negaitve effect not only on the enjoyment factor but also animals health.

That is my opinion anyway!

You can easily rig an auto shutoff refill device from the tank filling components designed for a toilet. Less than $20 for the fill kit & a bit of hardware to attach it to a hose.

Done. I use a python and that's about as easy as it gets. I don't know that I would trust an automated system so I agree with Andy that an "I wouldn't pay" box would have been good.
