Final Stocking Ideas

My tank is 43 US gals and is very well planted. Here is my final stocking list:


10-15 Harlequins
10-15 Lemon Tetras
10 Iriatherina werneri
6 Bronze Corys
6 Keyhole Cichilds(untill paired then 2)

Give me your opinions

I would swap the Bronze Corys for Sterbai Corys as Bronze corys need colder temps

Bronze corys have a temp range of 25°C to 28°C (77°F to 82°F). Sterbai corys have a temp of 22°C to 26°C (71°F to 79°F). My tank is around 78f so there shouldn't be a problem. I actually have 4 of the corys in atm and they seem to be doing great. Look very healthy and look like they are enjoying themselves!

Looks great but i would go for something a bit different than the keyhole cichlids. What about Red breasted acara or Biotodoma cupido the Biotodoma need to be kept in groups so maybe get 6 and once 2 pairs form sell the others so you only have 4.

I think thats normally the other way around. Bronzes are normally recommended 22-26C and sterbais 26-30C.

This may sound stupid but i think the keyhole have a better body shape for the tank. I just think they will stand out a lot which is why i chose them for the centre piece fish.

Fair enough its up to you im just going by mine and other peoples experiences. I do think bronze corys will be fine in your tank though i kept and breed them at 24-26C for a year.

Well planet catfish and alot of experienced keepers would disagree with you. No one will ever tell you bronzes CANT live at higher temps, just that they thrive in lower temps around 24C

Sterbai are the opposite, favouring 26-28 but living healthy long lives well up to 30C. Hence why they're good tankmates for discus and have been a commonly kept with them for many years.
