I have three platy in a 10 gallon tank (1 male and 2 female). I've had them for about a week and the one female is now nipping at the other female. Is it harmless or do I need to intervene somehow? She is clearly stressed by it.

Maybe try rearranging some décor in the tank to break the sight lines and give her some place to hide from the aggressor.  Make some caves and add some more plants.   It works pretty good with my African Cichlids and in my Piranha tank.

Sometimes females can get aggressive before they have babies.  Although, a ten gallon isn't much room for a new family..... It's pretty small for live bearing fish.

OK its worth a shot. Thanks, hopefully it does the trick.
I just got them last week so maybe one was already pregnant...? How would I be able to tell? One seems fat, but its the one being bullied.

Definitely do as Ryan10 suggested. I'd also upgrade when possible as the tank is too small long term for platies. They should be kept in a minimum of 15g. HERE is some more info on them.

If they are kept with males and are big enough they will definitely be pregnant.
