I am in the process of buying a 18 box trickle filter for my 1000l tank I have a FX5 filter I am looking at putting pumice stone in the bottom trays for bio filtration I have about 35 tropical fish including 1 Discus and 3 Angel will the pumice change the quality of the water everything is good at the moment I do have some problems with nitrates and ammonia doing more water changes and substrate cleaning has helped

I am curious as to what an 18 box trickle filter is.
