I have currently got a juwel rekord 70.If you have seen or got onw you will know that the filter box is fairly large and ugly.If i out a Elite Stingray Underwater Filter in it would it be suitable.Also if i took out the origional filter box(the black box) where or how would i out the heater as it is stored in it

The biggest Elite stingray is rated for 57 litres. I'm not sure how big the rekord 70 is (although I'm gonna take astab at 70 litres) so I'd be more inclined to go for something like the eheim aquaball 2210 or something of the same size. I've always been a fan of the best filter you can afford is the right one for your tank (so long as its the right size )

Is there a gap in the lid where you could run the tubing for a small external filter?. Don't think a rekord 70 is too small for an external - some people run nano tanks on externals.

i did the same with my filter i removed the old 1 and replaced it with a fluval 2 i have the 80lt version tho

as for the filter u know the little thing that it is held in take that out with the ring that holds it and it can holfd on the side of the tank ill try and get u a pic if u need it
