Hi, we have a Juwel 450 and use a Eheim 2028 external filter. The water (even after a massive water change) looks murky quite quickly. Do we have the correct filter for the size of our tank? I was thinking about running another (maybe smaller) external filter alongside.... or do you think there is something wrong with the fliter I already have?
We are new to fish keeping and the tank and Eheim external filter were bought together second hand.
Also, we have the intake and outlet at opposite ends of the tank...is this correct

Thanx

Welcome to the forum patchouli, that name reminds me of scents from my teen years.
If your filter is not removing the finest of particles the tank can look a mess. Try inspecting the flow path in your filter.b What you will want, at the very last point in the canister, is a pad of filter floss, the same stuff they sell as polyester fiberfill for stuffing things at a fabric shop. I try to start out with a layer of filter floss that is about 1 cm thick when dry right before the impeller in an external filter.
