Im looking for an External Filter that will work inconjunction/along side the standard Juwel Bioflow 600.

I was looking to possibly get either the JBL e1500 or one of the following Eheim 2073/2075/2078.

Now do they sound good? Are they too much? Which would you recommend out of the above or would you recommend something else?

The highlighted fact is that, it is to run alongside the Juwel Bioflow 600, not to replace it.

Thanks in advance.

The tank I want this for is my planted tank/with fish, which is a 180ltr Juwel.

The Eheim 2078 is a nice bit of kit, I have one in my Rio240 alongside an APS2000EF and the integrated Juwel filter (until a Lionhead Cichlid youngster sneaked inside the chamber while I had the pump outlet tube disconnected last week) for 36 ~4cm Lionhead Cichlids, their mum and 8 Ilyodon xantusi (I've never seen generous pinches of Tetra Prima vanish so quickly into fish mouths!). Very quiet; well built; good cannister volume; lots of options regarding flow that increase if you buy the USB connector (I really tempted to get this, they can be had for ~£50 if you look around).

Have you considered simply upgrading the Juwel pump? The Rio240 normally comes with the 800 pumpset, but I bought mine with the 1000.

Incidentally, you might find it intersting to know that can can also swap impellers between the various Juwel pumpsets of the same size, to get the flow you desire... They simply have different sized "paddles."

Yes did consider, but that would upgrade the flow, and not the filter itself, so thought an external would give me the best of both. Interested to here what others recommend in this situation.

Still interested to hear what others have running alongside internal filter and what they recommend in my situation?
