hi, i have a juwel internal filter (the ones that come with the tank) would these filters suck up fry such as, guppys, platys or molly fry size (the size im talking about is from when they are born)

short answer? YES.
 
You don't have to change the filter unless you want to anyway. I'm not sure if the fish actually get sucked in or whether they tend to swim in throught the gap around the outlet tube. What you can do is to get an old filter sponge, cut it to size and push it over the outside of the tube against the filter housing and that closes the space. If you choose a carbon sponge or an old dirty one it doesn't really show.
