Filter Problem!

evening guys. my filter also has a way of pumping air in the tank from above the surface. today it doesnt seem to be working great, although few bubbles are still coming into the water, im having to run my seperate air pump to increase amount of oxygen.

as youll see the filter has a tube going to the surface, iv made enough space above surface so there is air there. has anybody had this problem before? counted my fish and there all there! so one hasnt done a nemo!
any help will be appreciated. (the filter itself is still filtering and pumping water out.

Hello there, sorry I don't see any uploads.

First things first, you haven't specified what filter you have?

From experience with a Fluval U2 it was due to the plastic capsule where the biomax stones are being clogged up with grimy icky stuff. Simply cleaned it with a sponge and hey presto! Just remember to clean it using tank water and not tap.
