I have not long since got a aquastlye aquarium with trickle filter,what id like to know is has anyone has anyone ever changed the filter media for an alternative instead of the genuine replacement media? or any ideas what type and what order should the media be placed. At present the top layer is wool which is attached to a tray with carbon media in,then sponge and finally biomax noodles before returning to the aquarium. Ive been told eheim subtrat pro is a good choice to replace the biomax with,what do you reckon?
