Filter Help

hi all

i am a bit stumped and need some help

i have a fluval plus3 filter internal and its all working all good, but

i have 4 baby discus fish and i heared they do not like the current. well i turned my filter right down so the tank plants are moving only very faintly. and also pointed the outlet nozzle away from the tank centre so is reduces the current

will my tank be ok with the internal filter or shall i buy a external filter & spray bar.

i do not want to realy go to the expense for no reason so help would be great

also my tank is a 128l fluvan tank. also in there are 4 baby discus, 5 tetra neons so far, still buiding the and getting new fish every now and again

It sounds like you have solved your high local flow problem by just pointing away from the open tank area. If you have real plants in the tank, that may not be the wisest move in the long run, since you do want good circulation around the plants themselves. It should be fine for the short term without the need to add a fancy spray bar to the arrangement.

I agree, Unless filter return flow is blowing the fish all about the tank, I would not worry. Fish will swim away from area of direct flow.
