Fight Or Flight ?

So, my Betta was looking a bit bored in his tank swimming around the *same* plants, through the *same* filter spray and round the *same* bit of mopani wood. So today I was in the lfs and I found a silly divers helmet thing with holes in it he can swim through. I'm not one for ornaments but I thought it might be a good idea to cheer my fishy up
So I brought it home, gave it a good wash and rinsed it really well (no soap or anything just hot water) and placed it into the tank. Rocket must have thought it was food time when I lifted the lid, as I placed the ornament he was just giving me evil looks... oi! where's my food ! Bloodworms ! now !
Now, he's swimming up to this invader into *his* tank and sniffing at it almost like a little puppy. He just swam around it a couple of times and must have accidentally touched it or something because he flew to the other end of the tank in an instant and hid behind his sleeping plant.
Now he can't seem to decide what to do about this new thing... Is it friend or foe ? lol...

Mostly they remind me of little puppies. Always glad to see you, wagging their little tail fins and fluttering their (oh what?) side fins.

aww how cute. Every time I open the lids on my bettas tanks they give me that 'oi wheres my food' look!
