I have 2 female dwarf gouramis in my 70L tank and recently they keep chasing each other and nipping one another. I presume this is a pecking order within the tank - but i am worried that one is sustaining damage to it's skin near its tail fin. Could this be the case?

I have 3 tiger barbs, 3 neon tetras and a bristlenose plec. It's definitely not the tiger barbs as they clearly rule the roost in the tank and no-one messes with them. I've seen the 2 dwarfs go at each other. i was wondering whether a male would sort them out. I did have a male until 3 months ago but he died, and i'm a bit loathed to get anymore dwarfs as i think they are a pretty weak fish and dont last too long.

they are probably fighting for territory. the barbs and others are making them want to be territorial, bieng two females they feel threatend by eachother and want to settle out female dommenance (sp?)

edit forgot to say female part lol

yea, i said that when she had 5 topics on the main page. i have 5 topics on the main page and ask stupid pointless questions, then dont take advise?

Well i got home tonight and the gourami was dead :-(. No idea why as no visible signs and it looked in reasonable health.
Last night though i did notice a transparent white strand coming from it (almost like a 3rd feeler). Any ideas?
