I had 3 swordtails. One gave birth, then all 3 big ones died. However, I still had about 30 fry. Im down to 3 now (2 2", 1 1cm??? not sure why. They all bro/sis) Anyway the the one female keeps chasing the one male! Hes hiding alot now, but hes fine, he still comes out, but then the chases him more and he hides again for a few minutes, and the cycle continues. Since when did the female chase the male? Their about the same size. What could be going on?

One thing that could be going on with swords that small is that the female may be an immature male. Swords are so common on developing the sword tail and gonopodium late in their life that stories about them changing sex are common. As far as some growing faster than others, they are not all identical. Just like people, some grow and mature faster than others and some end up bigger than others.
