well was in mablethorpe for the weekend and always check out the pet store down there, normally they just have a few tetras and cories etc but today they had two white bettas, with the slightest bit of blach on there scales (sure someone on here has one similar) one in a tank by himself, fins in perfect condition the other in with mollies and tetras, with hardly any tail, i was so tempted to get him, but one of my guppies is due this week so i wasn't allowed him, now i feel so guilty, but if i did get him, would he of made the 2 hour journey home?

Sure he would! I just moved mine back to Illinois from Pennsylvania for the summer. They were fine for 10 hours. I kept them in covered jars and had them in a bag so it stayed dark. The darkness calms them it seems because they had no stress lines the entire way back.

thats just makes it worse, i'm back home now so can't really get him, why did my guppy have to go get herself pregnant

It's ok. Some one will pick an amazing fish like that up and put in a loving home. Oh an guppies are always getting knocked up, that's nothing new. But I'm sure someone will give that betta a loving home.

Lilfishie you cant save all the fish in the world, stop beating yourself up about it, im the same when i see fish like that in lfs :)

it was just seeing him, he had literally no tail, and he wasn't the prettiest of bettas i've seen, but i suppose your right, they'll be plenty more for me to rescue when i have the space :good:

It's alright 'fish. You're a good person regardless if you could save that poor fish or not.

It's ok. I don't like the fact that no one has enough room to house every betta ever either but it's true.I just want you to cheer up. Cheer up lil' chipper monkey it's not so bad.
