i am sorry to post yet another community tank question i noticed a few. i have three girls in a community tank they are lovely girls, i also have a bunch of guppies, two older females and a bunch of babies so often put in flakes for the guppies which the bettas have no problem eats. (yes i know aqatic piglets) anyways i am trying to tweezer train the girls to eat pellets. they do even though due to the size there some difficulty the guppies usally don't eat the pellets but they will try. funny watching a small guppy fry swim away with a pellet in half the size of there body. the problem is some times the girls eat more pellets then they should while others don't get that much. is there any way to make sure the three girls are getting the proper nutrition. i know guppy flakes are not proper food but is there anything i should watch for because they are eating the flakes.
let me know if this post doesn't make sence too.

i had the same situation for a few weeks recently (female was in a breeder and jumped into gups tank, got on fine) although every time i lifted the lid she would jump back into the breeder because that was where she had been fed a few days before, so it wasn't really a problem for me.

although with greedy fish i usually recommend, feeding at seperate ends of the tank

feed the flake at one end, the pellets at the other? do the girls follow you?

well you could give it a try see if it works, hopefully they will learn that there food will there eventually

try scoping the bettas into a bredder baby net just for feedings ,, then feed the guppy outside the net and the bettas in it,, that way thy only get their own food

I would try one of the feeder rings with the suction cups. Put it at one end of the tank for the other fish, fill ring with flakes, and at the same time feed the girls at the other end..... That way you keep the flakes contained to one small area because depending on what kind of water flow you have going the flakes are going to go all over the surface without something to keep them contained. Hope that helps
