...the 70 model would would for a 65 gallon tank right? and even I wanted to get a bigger tank than that, I could run my penguin and the aquaclear in tandem and be fine right?

Running them in the same tank would be fine. Even if it is still cycling.

oh sorry for the confusion...I have a 10 gallon now. I wanted to buy a filter I could run in the 10 gallong, and that would still work when I get a 55-66 gallon I plan on next feb.
