Fat Corydora

Bit of a random question but thought id ask anyway ! Before corydoras lay eggs do they get big? I have one corydora that recently has become a lot larger than the others (i have 6) and wasnt sure if egg layers get large like live bearers or not. Sorry if this seems a stupid thing to ask!xx

females are generally bigger and fatter than males, and yes they do lay eggs..... best to hop over to the cory forum i think there's a pinned topic on breeding in there which should tell you what to watch out for. they seem to breed fairly spontaneously so it wouldn't be a surprise if they had tried without you doing anything.

Im aware females are generally larger but its suddenly become considerably bigger than the other 5 I wasnt sure if it were a sign she is to lay eggs or if there were something wrong with it. Ill have a look at the other board, thanks xx

Emmaq, chances are that your female is coming into breeding condition and filling up with eggs. You will know for sure when you come over to look at the tank and there are little white eggs all over the glass.
