Is it possible to have a fantail cross comet? ...because I have one!
I have a 3 goldfish that were given to me and are now in my 6 gallon tank. I have a Red-Cap Oranda, Orange Comet and a Orange Fantail/Comet.

I'm just wondering if this is possible... I'll describe this little fellow, he has a medium sized body (Longer than the Oranda's and shorter than the Comet). His body is fully covered in a bright orange. The funny thing that I stopped about this goldfish was it's tail. The top half is single (like a Comet) but the bottom half is split

Is this really a Fantail/Comet Goldfish?

*I will be taking a picture tomorrow*

not too sure about what fish it is, but i hope you have a much bigger tank planned for those goldfish, 6gallons is way to small.

I can't wait to see the picture! It sounds interesting. I do think that your 6 gal tank won't be large enough for them for very long though... the fish in the carp family put off quite a bit of ammonia (more then other fish) and require much more inch per gal then tropicals that we keep. I've often heard 10 gal per goldfish but I'm sure that the folks in coldwater fish and ponds forum can let you know what is best. I'll be checking back to see that picture! :D

Look foward to the picture.

A 6 Gallon fish tank is way to small for even one fish. A general rule that has been divised is you need 20 U.S. gallons for the first fish and 10 U.S. gallons for each additional fish. For Fantails which are less active this rule can be downsized slightly, but they should still live for 20 years or more and reach a size of 8-10". :)

yes it is possible GL

and for all of those who are worried about GL's tank size she is aware of the fact, as posted earlier, and they are only being temporly housed in there.

Thank you danio2004, I was going to explain about the small tank...
Well I found trouble posting the picture of the cross golfish but here is a site where the pictures are anyway!
Hope you enjoy :)
