Fancy Guppy Stocking.

I am wondering wether the male Fancy Guppies should be classed as a 2 inch fish, yes they can get to that length, but half of that is their body. So say I was working out what fish I could put in a 125L tank, would the Fancy Guppy really account to 2inches of fish, or closer to 1? After all its the body size that produces the waste, not the fins.

When suggesting stocking capacities with regards to bioload I tend to regard male guppies in the same category as cardinals. Bit bigger than neons, not as big as some of the larger tetras.

Edit: so to answer your question directly... yeah I guess I do regard them in a similar way to you.

Glad to hear it Naturally the females will be classed as their proper size when stocking.
