Hi guys,
I have a female betta thatās been extremely (and I mean extremely) bloated. She shares a divided tank with a male but can hardly see each other and the male isnāt interested so I thought maybe it was eggs but if it is, she refuses to drop them or reabsorb them. Itās been this way for a couple weeks and Iāve been trying to fast her in case it was caused by over eating but nothing has changed.
I also thought maybe it was dropsy but her scales donāt stick out and she swims and eats normally. Everything else in the tank is normal except a low water level I will fix tomorrow. Iāve never had this problem before and after the death of my goldfish and other female betta Iām starting to feel like I should not be keeping fish anymore but I take full responsibility because Iām not doing my best in terms of maintenance and Iām trying to fix that.
If anyone has experience with egg bound or extremely bloated females, any advice helps. I want to be better.
Thanks
