External Filter Help!

hey guys/gals

just a quickie,i not have a fx5 and it has flow rate's on the inlet and oulet pipe's,umlike my 405's

i swear i read on here that turning 1 down whilst on puts more strain on the impellor!!

is this correct,and if so is it the inlet/outlet that shouldnt be down whist the other is on full!!

i am guessing you are saying, that you have a fx5, but the output 'flow' is too much for your tank, and you wish to turn it down?

i would try bouncing the flow from the outlet pipe maybe off two sides of the tank if you can?

what size is your tank, do you have pics?

Turning down the inlet (to the filter) is the one you want to avoid. You should only adjust the flow but turning down the outlet (from the filter, this still causes the filter to work harder though, just not as bad as adjusting the inlet) but as mentioned above try repositioning the outlets in the tank so it hits the glass to break the flow.

Must be a devon thing I knew what you ment
