Well i was just "feeding" my betta in my 10gal along with three albino cories... and i accidentaly spilled a whole crap load of betta pellet things into the flippin water :X Most of them all sank to the bottom, i was able to net most of them out that floated...

The cories seem to like the food, so in about 5 mins all go in and vac it all up...

I fell like an idiot, ive almost done the same thing a few times before too lol

Anyone else as stupid as me? -_-

I've droped my lightstip in the tank while I was cleaning it :S
(I had to balence the hood half on and half off so I had enough light to see all around my aquarium)

I haven't dumped food in the water, but it sure has been poured all over my carpet. I blame the cat for getting in the way.

my cat fell in my tank when i had the lid off doing something. The fish were fine just the cats ego a bent torn

Yeah funny, my cat did exactly the same thing a few days ago. I was not impressed! :grr: and the cat got the fright of his life. He's always lying on the lid when the light is on (nice and warm) and good vantage point too. It was funny seeing him touch the water as he was about to fling his whole body in, and in mid-flight doing a 180degree turn

I feed 3 types of food and for some crazy reason I didnt put the lid back on the first food - turned to pick up the other food from the shelf and flipped the first food container straight in the tank.
Why couldnt it have been the algae wafers - oh no it had to be the sinking pellets that my cichlids go mental for.
Took me ages to get it all out - had to do a water change and everything.
I dont do that anymore

even worse...how many of you have left a package of frozen food out for whatever mindless reason? bloodworms and brine shrimp smell MUCH worse after a couple hours of thawing

Nope - never done that - well nearly. Had fed the fish some frozen bloodworm and the doorbell rang so i ran downstairs to answer it and then I got sidetracked by the kids. My son came downstairs and said "were you planning on putting the bloodworm back in the freezer or were you going to leave it on my carpet for mom to find"

Thanks god for kids - I would have been swimming with the fishies

I personally didn't dump all the food in but when I had a betta at work I came in one day and someone had dumped nearly an entire container of food in the bowl. Most of it was floating in a huge lump but the water was truly disgusting, had to change it. I took him home after that (and got him a 5 gallon tank to live in).

However, I have left an almost complete package of brine shrimp out on the counter. Yeah, it's nasty.

I also learned my lesson about covered the small bowl or cup that I put my betta in at work when I was cleaning his big bowl. My betta, Bananas Wharf (I didn't name him) jumped out once. Luckily he landed right on a napkin so I was able to pick it up and plop him back in easily. Yikes! Gave me a scare.

I've actually never spilled anything IN the tank. I have spilled a whole container of flakes on the carpet though. All the animals in the house came swarming over, and started eating it..

My kitten fell in the tank once too! I was cleaning it out, and left the lid open for a minute while I got my dechlorinator. I came back up the stairs, and heard a SPLASH!! Of course I ran into the room, and there was my kitten, shaking himself, soaking wet. He avoided eye contact for a few days, he was so embarrassed. :p
