Just thought I would say hello before I start to post, I used to keep tropical fish when I was a teenager, my favourite one being my Figure 8 Puffer.  Anyway just picked up a Nano 22ltr tank which I am planning on putting a Betta in, so far its setup and planted, but I am away on holiday for a week in a few days so am waiting till I get back to cycle it.  Thought I would sign up as I am a little out of touch of things, quite alot seems to have changed, so hoping for some help and advice along the way.

Cheers

to the forum!
Would love to see some pics of the tank, are you going to get a betta from your lfs or online? Any specific type you're planning on getting? :)
Hope you enjoy it here!

Thanks guys

, here's how the tank stands at the moment, but think the flow is a bit too quick so thinking of ways to slow it a little, am pretty sure there is a spray bar that fits which should do the trick.  I quite fancy a halfmoon plakat, not sure on the colouring though, but will probably order one from Thailand as they look amazing and there isnt much choice locally.  Any advice would be greatfully recieved.

Thanks

Oh that looks lovely! Is the head hollow? Seems like a really neat place to hide!
Do you mean advice on bettas in general or on controlling the flow? There is a caresheet at the top of the page, as well as a cycling article :)

Thank you, yea the head is hollow, you can attach an air pump so bubbles come out the hole but I wont be doing that. As for the advice, anything really :) , I have been doing alot of reading up over the last couple of weeks, so should have the basics but I could always have missed something, I suppose the first thing is layout or any other additions I should make to the tank :) .

Ah okay. I'm not very experienced so don't have much to add that hasn't already been said on the caresheet and article.
More plants are always better! :p

:hi: to TFF

Your tank looks lovely! I love that ornament!
You could add an anubia or two, they need to be attached to something or their rhyzome will rot if its under the substrate. Bettas also LOVE to rest on them!

When you do get your Betta, I hope you post lots of pics or do a journal, I can't wait to see the Betta you choose!
