On ebay you can get 32 empty escargot snail shells for £12, but i dont need 32, no way, so i was wondering if anyone wanted half, ie 16 and i could post them onto you, the charge would be half, so £6
would anyone be intrested

Do what I did go outside at night and collect a load of snails, then boil them and remove from shells. Voila! Empty shells. The snails we get in the UK are the European brown snail which was bought over here from the continent by the French. So escargot snails are just garden snail shells, the only reason we have so many is that we haven't reduced them to low levels by our culinary desires.

My tank has 30 or so in it, as I say just boiled them then soaked them in ammonia for a few days to ensure they were clean inside and rinsed out any remaining body parts.

Thanks for the advise, but garden snails are not big enough for 2" cichlids, they need larger shells.

still looking

Don't know if this is any use to you but I went into Hobbyland today and found a bag of assorted shells - small conch style and some really quite large specimens of varying types which were selling for 4.99 a bag, there were at least 30 large shells in the bag.

I know this is about a million years late , seen the journal etc, if you have any leftover will buy from you ??? :good:
