there's bits of it on the heater as well i'm sure...anyone know what this is or give me some explanation?

dangerous? what's causing it? i don't exactly over feed my betta, 3-4 pellets a day and i make sure he eats them, tank is heavily planted, could rotting leaves cause this?

what colour is it, can you pick some out, might be algae

well if you look at the pic i guess it's like a white cloudy fluffy substance

It actually looks like something has rotted and is getting moldy there. Clean immediately.

Think you might need to do more thorough gravel vacs.

I agree it looks like fungus. You need to clean it out and do a really good gravel vac and see if it comes back.
