Yes...The lads come good, but boy they were lucky.
Wilko needs to sort that boot out to relieve the pressure on the other guys somewhat.

Hoo ha!

So much for the doubters! Where are the Aussies, the All Blacks, the Welsh, the Irish? All gone home!

Where are we? In the final. So much for flowing expansive rugby, if your forwards can't secure the ball, you can have the best backs in the world, they aren't going anywhere.

Here's to Dad's Army MKII.

And for tonight, come on the Pumas!

Think what you like but it's gonna be the Springboks to dominate the Argie gatecrashers and take on England in the final. What a spectacle.
If the above senario comes to fruition, much as I would like DADS ARMY to win, I feel they are going to fall just short.
IMHO SA are too strong.

SA are not immortal.

Fiji ran them very close, and we are far more disciplined. SA will not be able to boss us around the park in the forwards like they did to fiji (nor will they do that to the Argies, either).

I want argentina to do well to force the IRB to put them in an international tournament. Any team which makes it to the semis deserves that, even if it is by making the tri nations a 5 nations and adding a Pacific Islands team. With more regular international games, the second tier teams will imrove, though right now Wales and Ireland are not looking worthy of their frits tier rating when you look at the pacific islanders and argentina.

"England more disciplined than the Bokker"

Thanks Andy I needed a good laugh!!

You made that up, so thank yourself for the laugh. I was referring to us being better disciplined in the forwards than the Fijians.

In fact, I don't recall even using the word "bokker" so I'm not that sure why you have put it in quotes...

Having watched the game, I have no real fear of South Africa, though I really wish that the commentator wouldn't keep calling Habana the fastest man in rugby; he was gassed good and proper by the American winger.

Brian Habana = second fastest man in rugby :D

We'll see...Roll on the BIG MATCH next Sat. Yes it will be a closer game than the opening round but the outcome will be the same.
The kicking game of one Mr Percival Colin "Percy" MONTGOMERY will win the game for the Springboks.
Watch and See!

Seriously, what did SA actually create in their semi? All their tries were from silly Argentina mistakes where they tried to force it. If we play like we have the last two games, and SA don't take quite a step up, I say it is ours.

"Worst Champions Ever", yet quite possibly the team that has the best chance of ever defending the title.

Mmmmm Let me think, Ah thats it, Argentina made the errors themselves, SA didn't play a part in that at all.
I shall reiterate, much as I would like to see Wilko and big Lawrence come home with the spoils, I just think the last two matches have taken their toll.
SA will run England ragged.

Like SA ran Argentina ragged by just picking up dropped passes and running them in? SA did not force a lot of the turnovers, it was forwards trying too much on the part of Argentina when the ball was in hand and dropping balls when a tackler wasn't even there.

The fact is, England have got big game winning experience, they are starting to get the knack the 2003 team had for winning by hook or by crook. That is what is important. Australia choked, France choked, because they didn't have the self belief and nounce to get over the finishing line. I personally thought this England team didn't have that, until the last few games (see our warm up game against France at Twickenham for evidence of us bottling a game we should have won).

Simple fact is that South Africa had to rely on school boy errors such as forced passes from the opposition to beat a team of mostly amateurs. Their main strategy was to aimlessly kick long and hope to try and snaffle line out ball from a poor set piece team. There will certainly be no riots run, and this game will be very close, but I think we will shade it. We are getting better with each match, the Springboks are looking ever more vulnerable to a tight, well drilled team.

I mean seriously, what did SA do that was really impressive except have a very fast winger to pick the ball at turnover ball and run really fast? Unless our defence takes a huge step backwards, there will be very little opportunity for the second fastest man in rugby to show his speed.

The rose will win, and we will retain our crown. And even if we don't, we got a lot further than anyone gave us credit for.
