Empty Tank To Kill Ick

so ive been trying to kill ick for three months ive tried salt and heat ive tried medications two weeks at a time i cant get rid of it. ive moved my fish to a quarintine tank where ill treat again, but ive read 14 different articles some say two days some say 8 weeks does anyone really know? im going to leave the tank empty for as long as it takes to kill it.i really didnt want to empty it of water and kill off all bacteria but will if its the only way to kill this ick it just seems impervious to all treatment?

At tropical temperatures, the whitespot parasites will be dead after a week without a fish host. Most likely sooner, but a week should do it.
