Just found at that my LFS should be getting some more Ellioti in. They are from the same breeder that my last one came from so they are from good stock. I am soooo tempted to start a breeding project, but I only have a 180 litre free at the moment. Dont really think that this will be big enough, so it looks like it might be another expensive month with a new tank etc ... I can not fight any form of temptation when it come to fish.

If the stock is the same then you will probably end up with a sister to yours... :look: Any chance you can get one from further a field to introduce some different blood?

Also i think a 180 would be fine for breeding as long as there was no other fish in there...

My idea was to get four or so 'new' ones and let them grow together, eventually moving two on and keeping a m/f pair alone in the tank. I was not going to get my current stock involved as I thought that he would be too big to put in with them. I suppose the other option would be to use my current male and just aim to get a female. But with him being much bigger I thought that it might lead to trouble in the tank. Plus there is that whole doing it with your sister idea

They are hard to find in LFS, shame I am so far away I have 12 1" youngsters at the moment I have up for sale.

Yes if you were closer I would have had some off you. I have only seen them in one fish shop around here on one occasion, its not fair ...
