Elite Heater

I have an Elite 25w heater for my 26L aquarium, but it seems to struggle constantly and is ALWAYS on. So i got another one - 50w which does up to 50L. However, it is much larger. I was wondering if it is ok to have the heater in a non-vertical position? THe instructions say not to put is on the floor of the aquarium, hide it behind stuff etc, and all the pictures show it 100% vertical. As it does not say not to keep it vertical, can i presume that an angle will be ok?

most heaters (I think ALL but cant be sure) are fine if placed at a 45 degree angle

Mine's at an angle. It's so stupid when they say not to hide is behind stuff, like you're not gonna have plants in front of it!

Yeh, my heater is behind stuff in my main tank and i have never had a problem!

It's fine to have it 'behind' stuff, you just dont want anything in contact with it.
