Electric Blue Rams

there are other types of rams with other requirments you could have like mikrogeophagus ramirezi
or you could go for a pair of kribensis
i could list loads of nice fish but would really need to know your tank size and other inhabitants

Electric blue rams are Mikrogeophagus ramirezi
sorry i was thinking of altispinosus

central scotland
the ph that comes out of my tap is 7.4,but since i finished my fishless cycle,ph has been constant at 6.5,the bogwood i have in my tank is probably keeping the ph lower, but saying that,it never lowered it during the cycle

Just typical that you all have pH that low, shows how much I know :)

I am stuck at over 7.5 (higher from the tap), when I get my next tank I have a very very large piece of bogwood waiting for it! I just want to get to 7 atleast...but NO chemicals

Anyway, what fish species is it to be then since you can have all the fish that I can't :(

to be honest pH 7.5 is a good ph to have plus its more important that its stable as most fish will adapt

so much choice, what would people recommend for colour and a good community fish, out of the fish already mentioned.another thing could i add shrimps and what would be the best to get?

either the agassizi or the cockatoo are awsome looking fish but as for adding shrimp with apistogramma probably not a good idea because if the apisto breed they will kill the shrimp

+1

I'm swaying more towards the Cockatoo, the full red ones are just stunning, amazing tail patterns too:

(not mine)

Look here for an idea of colour variations around:http://commons.wikim...mma_cacatuoides

Found this just now, looks like a good specialist site: http://www.dwarfcichlid.com/index.php

was looking at the electric blue rams again, with most of these been captive bred now,are the more resistant to different temps,my tank is at a constant 26 degrees,my ph is fine around 6.2,if possible would these be ok in my tank,i have got 1 male apisto and 2 female cacatouides in my tank,or would be a big problem.

cheers
