does anybody use an eheim pro2 2028? i got mine 2n hand and dont know how to interpret the maintinence/flow indicator. its just a little window where the intake hose clips in with 3 horizontal green lines on it. ok complete thicko question i know but what does this mean. is it the green lines disapear as flow is reduced ? no doubt when somebody answers i will slap myself lol

theres a little float inside the chamber and it moves up and down depending on the flow the lines are a marker to tell you the flow rate. you can adjust the flow with the gray lever the float should move if the spring isnt gunked up or the float is stuck. i own two pro 2 2026's and pro 2 2028 nice filters and easy to maintaine

ok great i thought the grey lever was just the locking mechanism to fix the hoses in place i will try it and see what happens . cant see a little float in there maybe its gunked up if so whats the best way to clean/free it up.

which position for the grey lever is maximum flow ?

You can adjust the flow with it !!!. To remove the pipes you have to press the little red locking tab and pull the lever right back

To clean the float you need to undo the pipes by the lever. If you look in the hole theres a red holder remove this (may be a bit tight) and your see the spring remove this carefully as these bend/strech easily, your need a pair of needle nose pliers or tweezers to take the float out what will be at the bottom of the chamber.

I Have just replaced the spring in my 2026 as i stretched it when cleaning the spring comes with the float and top red ring/holder whats 6 quid- ish iirc

i will clean the float next time i do filter maintinence ie cleaning it. all i need to know for now is if i am set for max flow rate otr not . atm the grey lever is pushed tight back towards the hoses is that the maximum flow setting or the minimum? to be honest tho the float working properly isnt really that much of an issue to me as i clean the filter through regularly anyway

full back is full flow. dont use the flow gauge that much myself but i get a nagging feeling if something isnt working and it should be lol

lol ok so i have got the lever pushed fully back so i know i have set to full flow rate. will prob leave the float well alone as i am a tad heavy handed lol and like i said i clean the filter out every 2 or 3 weeks anyway so its kept nice and gunk free . every time i do this im amazed just how messy fish are!
