i have a eheim classic 2213 which i have had for approx 2 months now. The last week the flow from the filter has majorly reduced down to about 60L/hr instead of 400l/hr it should be.
i removed all of the pipes and shut off valves and cleaned everything so there are now no blockages.
removed the filter media basket and cleaned all the goop off of it and made sure the media wasnt too compact.
checked the o-ring seal which was fine
removed the impella and shaft, cleaned, checked seals etc and re-fitted.
primed it making sure no air was in the filter
started it back up and it was fine, flowing about 400l/hr.
this was a few hours ago and since then it has stopped working twice. the flow reduces rapidly, then will pick up again
it does this several times and then will just stop working. prime it again and set it off and its fine for a while, then just stops again
it seems like there is somehow an air leak which slowly draws in enough air to stop the filter working but i cant find any leaks so dont understand whats happening. i know by the morning that the filter will have stopped which is slightly worrying
does anyone have any ideas or suggestions please
