i have just gone to clean my tank and ave noticed eggs im not sure who they ave come from. Ive got a 30lt tank and ive got 2 zevra danios 1 pearl danio 5 platys and 3 bronze corys. How can i take the eggs off the side and what can i put them in? i ave a breeding net with 3 platy fry. please help asap as i need to do a water change

Eggs on the side or the glass of that tank are probably from the cories, unless you have snails. Snail eggs will be in a clump of what looks like a clear gelatin. Cory eggs will be almost a mm in diameter and stuck individually to the glass. If you have cory eggs, I would suggest you go to the catfish part of the forum. I have read of techniques people use for breeding cories, but the real experts will be in that area.

sounds like cory egg.

remove them with a razor blade and place them in the trap and they may hatch in 3 days with luck.

yeah they are stuck on the glass. If i put them in the net will the platy fry eat them? 1 of the fry is due to come out of the next in about 2 weeks time

Yes the platy may well eat them,roll them onto your finger and place in a tub of tank water,preferably with an airstone to aireate the water.

When i saved mine,i put the eggs in a catching net and placed the net over an airstone in my fry tank,they hatched 4 days later.

Yes it's possible but unlikely, unless the fry was nearing 15mm plus.

What i have done is place the eggs in a clean butter tub and float it in the tank for a few day till they hatch, and then rear them in a rearing tank or net.

ive got a floating trap and ive put them in there. I have noticed that my baby platy that is in the main tank has an egg in its mouth she has had it there for a while now should i be worried?

You need very small food for egglayer fry, much smaller than you would for a guppy fry. Once the egg sac is absorbed, the fry will be in big trouble if there is no food for them in a hurry. I like to use microworms and Walter worms as a first food, before they are big enough to eat things like BBS.

I try to avoid fixing what is not broke Fshinggrl. Yes it could be moved but it was enjoying a good run right here.

Congrats on your little Cory fry, they are really cute & very easy to raise.

I have some in a floating tub, with an airstone, I feed them twice a day on Hikari first bites & do twice daily water changes & they are thriving.

18 of the eggs hatched but sadly none of them have made the last 1 died 2nite.
