Hi all,
In my tank i have Danios, walking catfish( getting rid of this weekend), talking catfish, platys, plec, fighters, spotted gourami, red shark, clown loaches, tiger barbs.

Im thinking of getting an eel , what do you thing , good or bad idea?

get a peacock eel you'll be fine, they dont get very big and aren't agressive, I've got one and he is kept with neons but he aint bothered by them

Tank size? Clown loaches get pretty big, and from what I've read of freshwater eels, they are somewhat slow feeders, and food needs to be near them. Also, they won't eat flakes so you have to feed them live or frozen, and the clown loaches will probably out compete them.

I highly recommend Peacock eels. Mine eat bloodworm from my hand and are very personable. They are ok with all the other fish also. I added the second one only 2 weeks ago though and he tends to get chased by the larger one.

When you first get them you will hardly see them for a few days then Whoom! they will be begging like hell.
