so yeah, i was wondering if anybody could tell me if there are any cichlids that would be suitable for a somebody like me who is relatively new to fishkeeping ? :)

Also depends if you mean South American/New World or African/Old World cichlids....both need completely different needs

well at the moment i have a 64L which im guessing would probably not be big enough :( i just thought they seem like a really nice looking and interesting kind of fish and wanted to learn a bit more about them :) !

Depending on the footprint of your tank you may be able to stock a pair of Apisto's if wanting to go New World. If wanting to go Old World then Nanochromis Transvestitus would be a nice choice.

If wanting to go Old World with a higher ph of something around 7.5+ then consider a Tanganyikan setup and a pair (or maybe 2 pair) of Neolamprologus Multifasciatus.

thanks for the help pal :) i'll have to reasearch more about them and the different types first, i have a ph of 7.6 so that would be okay right ? i shall research the names you have given me, thankyou very much :)

For the Multi's yeah. the Trannies and Apisto's will need an acidic ph though imo. There maybe some others, but they're just off the top of my head.
