hey all.
so ive decided to rid of me liverbearers, and replace with an egg laying type.
what would u suggest a good type ? bear in mind its a 20g tank, overfiltered :) moderate planting blah blah..

cheers :good:

zebra/leopard danios are the easiest egg laying fish to breed.
checkout my websites sexing breeding page (see sig)

I'd agree these fish are very easy. I'm a newbie to fishkeeping and mine were spawning within a few days of me setting up. I successfully managed to raise 16 baby zebras. They are now 3 months old and I noticed this morning that one of those is very gravid with a couple of sex hungry teenage males pusuing her all over the tank.

A hardy, lively fish to breed.

zebra danios are easy to breed. Also if youve got the space bristlenoses can be easy to bread

They say danios (zebras) are easy... I have had 3 kinds for over a year and I got nothing!

Hmm... if your up for it, get some Convict cichlids, they breed like mad! The only problem with any fish is that you need to have them pair up (usually), so "easy" breeding isn't all that easy...

In a 20 gallon? I would think that would be a bit small.

Bronze Cory's, I can't stop mine breeding!

its really whether you define easy as easy to understand their breeding habits and setting it up or easy as in just leave them to it , which youve been used to with the livebearers

A breeding pair of convicts is well at home in a 20gallon tank, nothing else in the tank however.
