Dwarf Puffer And Nano Tank

Got my dwarf puffer around 4 hours ago and here is the puffer and tank and its tank mates

My Nano is similar to yours, 3 dwarf puffers and 3 otos.

What did the lfs call your ottos? Giant ottos? Do you know their proper name? I have one just now that I got in a tank with normal ottos from the lfs. Just wanted to find their true name etc.

Thanks. The otos where under Medium Otocinclus (Otocinclus being their proper scentific name). Oto's are never giant Havent seen them for a while so had to snap them up aswell

Thanks mate, already slighty changed the tank around. Spread the Eloda DenSa out more and moved the amazon swords further back. Need a few more plants for the DP to hide in so thats more shopping to do.

Eventually seen the DP in in Pets at Home of all places. Most of the ones in the tank seemed like they were half dead, which is sad but my pets at home dont really seem to care about the fish. The person who got the DP out for me even took it out the water like normal fish thank good it didnt 'puff' and take in air. Seems a bit more life like now he is out of the place and in his new home. Just gald i could give one the oppertunity of a better life. Cost me 3.99 which isnt bad. No other places near me have them at the moment so had to snap one up as soon as i seen it.

Only went in pets at home for a new visitherm holder, which they didnt even stock and ending up buying the plants and DP and Otos for the nano

Changed the tank you say? It happens. Sometimes what we do the first time just doesnt cut it. Dont feel the urge to change it again too soon i hope

I just mean the plant arrangment not the whole tank. Im loving the sand still. Just not 100% happy with the way the plants are laid out but il get it there in the end

Yes pets at home of all places although they seemed to have some new fish in there that i havent seen there before so maybe there expanding god forbid i hope they arent though.

My DP was in with what i think looked like Tiger Barbs. Shocking really, probably why half of them looked like they are just about to die.

Just cant believe how small the DP is. I know they are small but wow. Its like the size of the fry of my Platies that are only a few weeks old

Im indeed hoping he will enjoy his life. Hopefully he has no problems etc over the next few weeks.

I think the prices are hiked up a bit down here at the moment as most of my LFS haven't had them for a long time and dont know when they are coming back in. I think even someone Radar speaks to who works in a LFS cant even get hold of them so guess i have to pay the premium.

I have indeed found what i wanted hence they why i paied the price lol

Dont really like shopping for fish in Pets at Home. Only originally when in for plants as there own branded plants are generally algae free (tropica ones arent though).

But today i come out with more then i bargined for..but hey makes me happy

Very interesting to know how this all turns out as im thinking of doing the same thing with mine, DP and ottos, im thinking of getting a mini external filter as well. I was going to have a colony of cherry shrimp but when i saw the DPs at the lfs the other day i fell in love with them. Do you feed it snails at all? I imagine you give it bloodworm and stuff?
