Dwarf puffers

I have a pretty well established dwarf puffer tank (40ltr with 4 puffers) and I would love to add a little life into the tank. I hear danios could potentially be good tankmates? I am not an experienced fish keeper by any means but I'm definitely not going to put other living creatures in harms way for my own amusement so any advice would be gratefully received.

Unfortunately danios need a much bigger tank than 41 litres. They are such fast swimming fish that they really need a tank in excess of 1 metre (3 feet) long.

To be honest, there are very few fish suitable for a 41 litre (10 gallon) tank, puffers being one of them, and the rest being small "nano" shoaling fish or a betta. I would not risk a betta or any small fish with puffers.
