Dwarf Gourami

Hi all,

I have a small 5 gallon tank with 1 male and 1 female dwarf gourami.
I was wondering as to what kind of algae eater would suit this size tank, or weather a couple of albino corydora's would do enough to prevent the need for an algae eater.

P.S.
I don't have a problem with algae as the setup is only a week old. but was wanting to put something in after a couple of weeks to clean up any uneaten food. I am also hoping to try and breed the gourami. There is a small but bushy plant in the tank, any advice on trying to breed my gourami would be much appreciated.

Your pretty much up to stocking level with your 2 dwarf gourami unfortunately, the rule of thumb is 1 inch of adult fish per gallon, gouramis grow to around 2 inches, therefore you have about an inch left max. How about a couple of small snails? DO you have live plants? If you do, you don't have to have algae eaters as the plants use up the nutrients that algae would usually thrive on.

Yes the plant that i currently have in my tank is living. So would 1 or 2 albino corydora's be okay in the tank as a clean up crew??

I think, if you're adamant you want a clean up crew, a couple of small snails is the only option i can think of.
To be honest though, with only 2 fish, and a live plant, so long as you don't over feed, you shouldnt get any/very little algae to need cleaning up.
