Dwarf Gourami Death =[

Dwarf Gourami's have been a bit of a nemesis to me too actually. I've had a few Blue and Royal Gourami's over a period of time that have over a prolonged time deteriorated and died. No idea what I've been doing wrong, but at least I know I'm not the only one with this problem

Ok Ive just set up the smaller tank, they seem to be doing alright in there, other than the fact the filter is a bit strong for the size of the tank.
I'll try and grab a pic of him in a bit, it should be too hard. He just looks like a balloon, yet he is swimming perfectly fine, which is whats making me think it may not be swim bladder after all?
I just don't know!

He could just be constipated - Try feeding him some crushed peas.

I seriously doubt they're constipated, it sounds bacterial.

Cooked and shelled peas can help with constipation sometimes. Not mushy peas though ;)

Update: The bloated gourami has now died =[ I've took a photo of him dead, it doesn't really do justice as to just how bloated he looks.
The other guy seems fine, I put some flake into the quarantine tank and he is eating fine and swimming about quite happily. I'm not going to put him back into the tank just yet though as i want to see how things go.

Here's the pic of the bloated gourami:

=[ Poor thing.

It will all come out in one swift movement. Haha!

Reminds me of my dads pufferfish in his marine set up. Good lord that thing could unload..

That's the same type of dwarf I have, I've always had trouble with those and the neon blue coloured ones. I don't know what it is with those.

I wish I was able to get a Samurai or Leopard Gourami, those two fish are beautiful. Sorry for your loss.

I refuse to get any more DGs because this is always what happens to them. There's an inbreeding problem which has developed into Dwarf Gourami Disease, which ends up always fatal. It's too bad because they're great fish. So sorry for your loss.

Thanks guys.
The other one is still holding out, nothing appears to be wrong with him so we'll see. Will he be ok in the big tank on his own? Are they like betta's and don't mind being alone?
Also how long should I wait before putting him back in?

Ok, he's still in his quarantine tank for now.
When I got home (which was quite late) he was on the bottom and didn't react when I came upto the glass like he normally would, but I don't know if he was 'sleeping' I don't know if fish actually sleep but most of mine tend to go into a state at night when they are in the dark where they seem oblivious.
He seems fine now that I've looked at him again since having the light on in my room for a while.
Should I think about putting him back in the 125 tomorrow?

Ive put him back in now, as he seemed to be fine.
At the moment he looks almost stuck to the heater, I've poked him and he swims off fine, then sticks himself on his side on the heater again!
I dont understand these fish!!
