Hi all.I think my little gourami has mouth fungus,i got him about 2 weeks ago.I saw the tiniest little skin alteration on his lip when I got him but I thought it was just part of his lip.But it has grown significantly,I just noticed it today so I caught him in a cup and it had gone vlood red and swollen.I looked online and saw it was almost identical to the picture,my camera is awful but i got 1 descent pictures

ok maybe not so decent but let's just assume that he has fungus,WHAT DO I DO?!

sorry forgot to add,the gouramis behaviour is normal,he is eating, swimming normal and I was about to get him a girlfriend before I saw his mouth

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Can you issolate him to a hospital and not a cup.
I would try a bacterial med.

The pics not working.

dont worry i only put him in a cup so I could take a better picture,I have put him back in the tank and will hopefully be getting him in too quarentine tomorrow. The size of the tank is 65 litres at this moment there are 3 guppys and 6 harlequins I am going to get more once I have cured the gourami.

the nitrite is 0.1 mgl

the ammonia is 0.4 mgl

and the ph is 7.0

I couldn't get the nitrate readings because that part of the test kit is impossible to opperate but I will borrow a nitrate test kit from my friend tomorow.I'm quite confused about the readings bevcause I have been doing everything by the book,I do weekly 30% water changes everyday and keep all the fish present and accounted for .

How long has the tank been set up.

How often do you do a gravel vac.
Do you over feed the fish.
Any rotting plants in the tank.

I clean the gravel once a week,There used to be rotting plants in there but I got rid of them, I defanetly dont over feed my fish. The only sorce of ammonia i can think of is,once a harlequin dissapeared about 3 or 4 weeks ago and i never saw him again.

Test tap water in ammonia and nitrite.

So the ammonia test kit goes up to 0.4 for the 0 reading. Is this correct.

Need your tap water nitrate reading, and tank nitrate reading.

Im really sorry,my friend was away this weekend and won't be back untill this weekend. Also I couldn't get my hands on a quarentine tank because the small heaters were sold out and I can only afford a small tank.I got the medication from the store and they advised me to use it on the whole tank.As soon as I added the formula the gouramis behaviour changed (I think it's just a coincidence) and it has started to stay just below the surface of the water. Also I have noticed that the gouramis top lip has almost completely dissapeared! :( and it's fins has little spits in it.Sorry to post so much but I am realy worried about this ????

What med did you get.
Not sounding good. Once the mouth starts to rot away best to destroy the fish.
