I am planning on getting keyholes and cockatoo dwarf cichlids, now as far as im aware they like a low ph. The water from my tap is around 7.6 7.8. What i was looking to know is how would i get the ph down to the lower end of the scale.

Any ideas please Dru

Hi Dru
That would be fine for them, no need to lower the ph as it will likely do more harm than good
if you arrange the tank with a couple pieces of bogwood they can get under and a few live plants they'll feel right at home and you shouldn't have any problem with them

I am planning on planting the quite heavily but not go over board. Do they really need to get under the bog wood. i have lots of rocks( thanks to a building site) and as planning on making lots of caves at one end up till bout half way and a pirate ship(split in 2) at the other. I have some bog wood atm but it not really suitable to get under.
