so the 20 gallon tank in my sig no longer has a GSP because he decided to eat the caudel fin of my bichir. i love GSP's but dont have the room for one right now. my 20 has the bichir and WT pleco in it.

what other fish can i add to this tank? i know the bichir gets large but that will be at least a year before i worry about that.

i would like another "exotic" type fish to add. i heard they eat fish but are they VERY aggresive or moderatly? i was thinking about adding one more bichir and let that be it but id like to have some other small predatory fish.

my lfs has some zig zag eels?? i just dont know what to do.

suggestions welcome

I think as likely replacement only one Compresesusususususususus is quite unique and relatively hardy with the rest of 'em?????

I'm not sure if that is the right attitude to have. Over stocking isn't good regardless of the situation. As you mentioned, the bichir will get too large for a 20 gallon, as do most " exotic" fish. So getting another bichir wouldn't be a good idea, I know its hard because they sell them as small as 3". So it seems they can go in a small tank first off, but not a 20 gallon and not 2 bichirs along with more " exotic " fish. That too bad about the bichir cadual fin, is it totally gone? GSP are aggressive, like most puffers and are famous for fin nipping

Believe it or not??

not the whole thing but i noticed 1 bite mark so i was like ok hmmm, he knows where hes at in the pecking order. but after another GSP sized bite mark i realized something must be done! i imagine his fin will heal and currently is by himself in the 20 gallon. i have no problem keeping him in there by himself because no he reigns owner of the tank. which is fine because he is always out and about, which i like to see! ill take your advice and leave him alone until i want something different.

the thing i hate about being an aquariast is the fact that there are so many cool species to own, its hard to be satisfied!

my main concern, his fin WILL heal right???

Most fin damage will heal, but if the whole fin or a great deal of its gone I'm not sure if it will recover. But I can't say for sure, because I have never had that problem, lots of nips but no chomps. If you could post a pic of his fin it might be easier to tell.

im not up to takin, editing, uploading, and posting the picture tonight but i can describe it

ive seen fish tails bitten down to the "bone", but his is just the...omg wait! ahhh...so while typing this up i looked at him and i am pretty sure there is more gone! the only other fish is a whiptail pleco

does anybody have any experience with these????????????? im not a tard and am pretty sure plecos dont chomp on tank mates! right now hes burried in the sand and is giving me a dirty look  coincidence? lol

anyway if im just imagining things the parts that are gone are on the ...light, wavy, silky, part? i dont know how else to describe it other than those words.
