I have merged two threads so posts #9 to #13 may be mixed from the two original threads.
Nitrate: 25
Should be under 20 ppm, if tap nitrate is lower than this, water changes will get it down. Though if your source water is over 20, the tnak level can't be lowered by water chnages.
Nitrite: 0
Good, this should always be zero
Hardness: 150
At the top end of soft. OK for soft water fish but not hard water fish.
Buffer: 300
Quite high, but doesn't affect fish directly. It buffers pH and as it's high it will be difficult to lower pH
Ph: 8.4
This is high for soft water fish. But with such a high KH, it will be hard to lower it
Chlorine: 0
Good
Ammonia: 0

Stress coat is a water conditioner which should only be added to new water at a water change. It also contains aloe vera which is not good for fish gills.
pH reducer won't work with the KH being so high. The pH will lower initially, then it will bounce back.
What is the pH of your source water - both freshly run water and some that's been allowed to stand overnight?

pH of 8.4 is way too high for most freshwater fish and there is your problem. Zebra Danios like acid water. You need to do something to lower your pH.
But how can he lower pH with a KH of 300 ppm?
We need to know the pH of the source water as there is a possibility that something in the tank is raising the pH.
