Does Anyone Successfully Adjust Ph?

I always use the PH down conditioner available in LFS, but if you don't want to use unnecassary chemicals just use bogwood.

Is the Mopani decorawood that I see for sale at lfs and on ebay "bogwood"?

no Mopani wood is a very dense wood from africa.
it is often sandblasted on one side to remove the bark and thus the lignums
which is what makes tannings(humic acids).
Mopani will still leach tannings but not as much as bogwood.

most good lfs' will stock bogwood
